Heres a deal that lets you hop from one luxury hotel to another for six nights in some of the most scenic spots in Ireland and Northern Ireland. Sceptre Tours even throws in a rental car for this package, which starts at just $499 per person.

The deal: The hotels (and the price) are what make this package really sing.

Start out with two nights at the Ritz-Carlton Powerscourt, County Wicklow in Ireland, followed by a night at the 13th century Ashford Castle in Ireland, two nights at Lough Erne Resort in Northern Ireland and a night at Croke Park Hotel in Dublin. The rental car has manual transmission (you can upgrade to an automatic) and equipped with GPS to help you find your way. The starting price of $499 per person, plus taxes and fees, is based on double occupancy. Airfare isnt included, but you can add it.

When: The package is available at various times throughout the year, but the lowest prices are for off-season stays: Nov. 1 to 16 and Nov. 29 to Feb. 6, excluding holidays.

Tested: I went to the Sceptre Tours website and found details of the itinerary, along with availability for a Nov. 1 departure. Note that the same package starts at $999 per person, plus tax, during August.

When I estimated the cost of the luxury hotel stays and the car rental on their own, the total came to about $700 per person pretax, which means you save more than 25% with the package. If you luck into milder weather, you might have enough money left over to splurge on a round of golf at the Nick Faldo-designed course at Lough Erne Resort.
